DIGI Project – Phase 1 (Tamil Nadu)

In Phase 1, DIGI reached three handloom clusters in Tamil Nadu—Salem, Pattamadai, and Ooty—connecting marginalized and digitally excluded communities to the digital ecosystem.
By setting up Digital Resource Centres and training locals, especially women and youth, the project boosted artisan sales, improved market access, and reignited interest in both digital tools and traditional weaving practices.

DIGI Project – Phase 2 (Karnataka and Tamil Nadu)
Phase 2 of the DIGI project marks an expansion into new locations across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, building on the foundation of Phase 1. This phase aims to deepen digital empowerment, foster greater inclusion, and strengthen the preservation of GI-tagged artisan traditions. With a continued focus on rural and marginalized communities, Phase 2 will scale impact by enhancing digital skills, market access, and cultural visibility.
